Kaitlin looked flawless in her gown from every angle, and we had a great afternoon at her dress rehearsal on her family’s Edisto Island property, Cypress Trees Plantation. Thanks to The Wedding Row for featuring these photos recently!

No rain on their parade — these two are much too fun to let a little wedding day shower dampen their spirits! How about the magnificent ceiling of the Unitarian Church for their “something blue?” Tiffany was so elegant, her nephew was such a cute gentleman, and this wedding party was great fun. Tiffany’s dance with her dad brought tears to many guests, and she and Jay are fantastic dancers.

This portrait begs to be called “Till Death Do Us Part.”

Here’s to the happily ever after! Vendors involved with this beautiful downtown wedding included First Bloom, Cupcake, Ascend Entertainment, Men’s Wearhouse and the Mills House Hotel. Tiffany found her perfect Justin Alexander gown at Bijou Bridal.

I enjoy visiting new places, and I like taking photos to ingrain places and feelings into to my feeble memory for the long haul. I love flipping through travel magazines, skimming blogs and dreaming of a shooting a wedding somewhere far away, like Bora Bora or Banff, South Africa or the San Juan Islands, but the reality is we stay pretty close to home base around here. I don’t really mind it — most days I am filled with gratitude because I live in near the sea in such a mild, colorful, relaxed place. Still, it’s nice to take in a change of scenery — even if that’s just up the quiet stretch of Highway 17.

Last year, I photographed an intimate wedding at the Pelican Inn on Pawleys Island, and we packed the family up to come along and enjoy the beach. This year, when I booked a September wedding at nearby DeBordieu, we decided to do the same and make a weekend out of it – we even had some friends come up and spend Friday and part of Saturday with us before I started shooting at 4pm. Here’s to combining work and play more often!

Meredith has already started school in Oregon, but I wanted to share these colorful Charleston senior portraits we shot over the summer. I can imagine few areas of the country would be as lush and green as Eugene, surrounded by lakes and hills and the Willamette River, but we can’t have our neighbor forget her Lowcountry roots. Enjoy your freshman year, Meredith, and let me know if you can’t make it home to use your Avett Brothers tickets!

An action-packed summer contributed to a bit of blog backlog, so I haven’t even shared these Magnolia Plantation engagement photos here yet. Many thanks to Erin for featuring the fun on A Lowcountry Wedding earlier this week. Pop over to see more from this moss-draped, sun-dappled session.
