After a lovely taste of spring this week, the weather has turned overcast and chilly for the weekend. It’s a setback for lovers of summer (enter tune from “Grease” here), but it’s the perfect opportunity to warm up with good cooking and a glass of vino. This weekend our fair city hosts the hugely popular Charleston Wine and Food Festival, and the town will be buzzing with foodies, chefs and conversations including “terroir.”

Today I’m featuring a unique Charleston engagement photo with the working hands of the general manager of The Woodlands. He and his lovely bride-to-be are counting down the weeks until their perfectly planned wedding. I took this photo at his Summerville home when we kicked off their engagement session with a bit of cooking. The Woodlands, along with Charleston’s best restaurants and guest chefs from around the country, will be involved in the festival this weekend. Bon appetit, y’all!
