What a fun way to start the 2014 wedding season! I enjoy small gatherings, and this intimate beach wedding was no exception. Rather than have a full-blown affair and far-away vacation, these two honeymooned in their new home after Susie left the coast to move inland with Travis. She’s a fantastic hairdresser who developed a loyal customer base in Charleston. With her warm and friendly personality, I’m sure she’ll be successful in her new town, too.
Although it would have been interesting to see a bride do her own hair, I never even laid eyes on Susie until she walked down the Isle of Palms beach with her dad. Laid back and elegant — my kind of bride. Their beach ceremony was simple, sweet and sundrenched. The couple was surrounded by family, a few friends, some squawking gulls and a blustery breeze that reminded us it was not yet spring.
Lilies just might be my favorite flower, and Susie’s bouquet and giganti-lily in her hair was so perfect! After a few beach photos, I left the group to enjoy a wonderful dinner at The Boathouse on Breach Inlet. Congratulations, you two!
