Tracy & Tommy | Pawley’s Island Wedding

This laid-back Pawley’s Island wedding was simply perfect. Tracy vacationed on Pawley’s as a child, so she and Tommy decided to pop down from Washington, DC for a cozy destination wedding. The Pelican Inn, built in 1858 on the island’s highest bluff, is a sweet venue, nestled among trees between the creek and ocean. Although summer guests can rent rooms here (yummy meals included), the whole inn is available for rent in the off-season, so the couple’s families and friends had the place to themselves for a few days.

The intimate ceremony wasn’t affected by the threat of a spring shower although the drizzles inspired speedy group shots. Carefree Catering prepared a fantastic alfresco dinner (with crazygood crabcakes!), and even though there were no margaritas this Cinco de Mayo, the maid of honor was offering “blemonerries” to welcome summer – a tasty cocktail of lemonade and blueberry vodka. Guests mingled and danced, and the Supermoon rose over the ocean. What a splendid way to kick off their happily ever after!

Other vendors include Beautiful Salon & Spa, Carolina Charm Flowers, Charleston Virtuosi, Pawleys Island Bakery and Music by Request.
