Liz and Andrew wed outdoors at the DeBordieu Club on Saturday. Before I share images from their perfect creekside ceremony and fantastic reception by the beach, I’ve been wanting to post some of her Atalaya bridal portraits. I can’t recommend bridal sessions enough! They give the bride time to wear her dress after the final fitting (and ensure that no more adjustments are necessary), have a test run on the hair, makeup and bouquet and revel in being a bride before the big day, which screams by so fast.

Liz grew up in North Carolina and has many special memories from her family’s time at DeBordieu. Just up the road from Georgetown, tucked in Huntington Beach State Park, is Atalaya, the remains of a Mediterranean-inspired summer house built by Archie and Anne Hyatt Huntington in the 1930s. At the time they established their South Carolina residence and sculpture gardens (at nearby Brookgreen Gardens), The Huntingtons spent most of their time in New York City and owned a large parcel of Central Park. Since Liz and Andrew live in NYC, I thought this would be a perfect location to start our session. (And a special thanks to my husband whose recent camping excursion with my daughter provided my first glimpse of this storied spot!)
