Wedding Hair | Southern Brides

Yesterday I received an email from InStyle claiming “Here Comes the Wedding Season!” Although my fave fashion magazine frequently identifies and perpetuates the trends, I had to laugh at this headline. I’ve been shooting beautiful Southern weddings since March! So before I share the In Style article with lovely wedding hair ideas, I’ve compiled a few from my most recent group of stylish Southern brides and their beautiful bridesmaids. We have it all, y’all. Sleek updos; less structured twisty ones; large loose curls and a fantastic fishtail braid. Way to mix it up!

Some Southern girls are just born with the ability to skillfully wield a curling iron. Long, lustrous locks for these bridesmaids.

Ashley’s classic, fuss-free updo was as elegant with her veil as it was without it later that evening.

Shiny, healthy straight hair for the girls, and a simple updo for the bride at her backyard wedding. Perfect!

Tiffany’s hair had some glamorous volume in the front with sideswept bangs and long curls which looked great when Jay twirled her on the dance floor.

Susan’s wedding hairstyle was sleek from the front with long curls off to the side. Her dark hair looked great with her red lips and sangria bridesmaids.

Susan’s short, sassy veil was a fun addition for the ceremony, and it didn’t take away from her sideswept curls.

Wedding hair that looks great all day — through photos and tears and dancing? Priceless.

And here’s Hollywood’s take on wedding-worthy updos in the In Style article. About the only thing in this lineup that I have yet to see in a bridal party is the Gatsby-inspired fake bob, which looks amazing on Kerry Washington and Jessica Biel. Anyone feeling Daisy-like out there?
